Omnia : TV Out Cable
Those who want to get tv-out cable for Omnia, u can check at Samsung service centre or samsung shop if they have. Actually the cable itself is made for SGH-F510 model but it is compatible with Omnia as they using the same port. In Malaysia it cost about RM 54.55.
So is it worth displaying Omnia screen on your tv?
For me it’s great for watching movie only. I tried on Plasma & CRT TV. Both looks ok. Not the best quality but acceptable. Make sure u don’t convert the movie file into WQVGA screen. It will more reduce the quality of the picture. And u need to max ur Omnia volume as well as tv volume.
Other than that, if u use other stuffs, u can see a big pixelate because the WQVGA screen. So u can imagine what would happen if u stretch WQVGA screen on your plasma TV..:)
Here take a look some of my screen shots..dont have movie..pity..:)

Hey Maks,
If I bought a generic tv-out cable, would it be just as good as the official Samsung one? The prices are pretty different. Oh, and could you recommend an Omnia case?
[reply by MAKS PAIN - sorry for late reply]
i’m not sure..
but one thing i can see the display that u see from ur Omnia is better than tv screen

Hi Maks,
This isn’t related to the post, but I was wondering if you knew of a way to hide certain files on the Omnia. I had a commenter on my blog ask me this question and I have absolutely no idea. Ever heard of some way to hide files?

hey i have the s2us slide lock on my omnia and when it locks and the screen rotates, sometimes the lock screen is out of place and i have to rotate the phone in different directions before it finally lines up full screen to unlock. Do you get this same problem?
Maks Pain said,
December 21, 2008 at 2:32 pm
S2U2 doesn’t lock the rotation function..the best way is u manually lock by hold end button..then leave it until S2U2 activate
Jason said,

Hey Maks, how do I change the S2U2 background? Is ther ea depository of S2U2 backgrounds online? Or do I have to make them myself for the specific rez required?

Jason,
there are 2 ways u can do..
a)
first u get the wallpaper that u want..rename it to wallpaper.jpg
then go to Program FIles > S2U2 > gfx
replace it with ur new wallpaper.
WallpaperL.jpg is for landscape..
wallpaper.jpg is for portrait..
b) download S2V from http://www.ac-s2.com & install it
open the program..it’s a image browser actually..
from here u can select any pictures to be assign as S2u2 wallpaper (portrait & landscape)

The battery life on my Omnia is really very short, especially if viewing movies. I like to view them on my TV. The problem is the cable to connect to the TV uses the same slot as the power cable, so I can’t plug in my power cable and view TV at same time. Does anyone know if there’s a splitter cable I can buy that will let me keep the power plugged in while I watch video on my TV both at the same time?
Also, I use Slingbox a lot to watch live TV. Can I record onto my Omnia what I am viewing on it’s screen? Please reply to jkseLs@verizon.net
Thanks,
Jeff

Samsung LN52A650
This TV is the top recommendation from Consumer Reviews (for its value and quality). I agree and I also used the recommended settings found online at tweaktv.com. I use it with Vista Media Center and it works very nicely. I use the screen zoom feature found in VMC to accommodate the various aspect ratios found in broadcast and movie sources and leave the TV set to 16:9. Make sure to adjust the resolution and any overscan settings (e.g. using the video card settings) so that you get the full benefit of the size and resolution (Nvidia does a great job of providing the proper software for this).
The only big issue I have come across is the excessive interference with the VMC IR receiver. This TV will flood the room with IR noise when certain settings are being used (I am pretty sure its the energy saver settings). This IR noise makes the VMC remote virtually useless. I found some posts regarding these settings and corrected the issue. Now, I am happily viewing with full control of my systems.
It is an impressive TV and I am happy with it so far. As for size and weight, I can see how even at 52″, I will eventually be interested in something larger but will likely go to a projector system. I think this unit weighs perhaps a few lbs less than my 27″ Sony Trinitron (and it is sooo much better)!
I have been viewing analog signals on it at SDTV resolutions…this leaves something to be desired. Switching to a digital signal and hopefully higher resolutions (for normal broadcast/cable programming) will greatly improve the quality of the image.
BTW, the 120Hz settings make a movie look like it was shot on video (very sharp image with little inertial smoothing). This is great for sports type programming but not to my liking for feature films.

Hola Santiago Bernabeau. Your Omnia isn’t recognising your tv out cable; either your cable is faulty or your port doesn’t work…..for you to check now.
Ciao Senorita.

I am looking for help. I do not know how to copy a dvd to my hard drive. Can anyone recommend a program (free would be great) for this. I ould then like to copy it to a micro sd card for my omnia and then be able to play it on a tv. Would any of you have the patience to explain this to me, I would really appreciate it.
Did you find a splitter for the omnia that would allow the tv out and charger at the same time? Where would you recommend buying the splitter?
