Make my Omnia looks better & useful with Ifonz
Yeah, i know this is like repeatiting post. But I just want to share with you all the main applications that made my omnia (windows mobile) looks cool and even better from default one..
First is the windows shell, where u have so many options currently available..
SPB Mobile Shell, Winterface, ThrottleLauncher, Wisbar Advance, Manila2D & the most application that i like currently is Ifonz (last time was using SPB Mobile Shell). And it’s FREE! no need to worry about license…..Previously i had installed ifonz before, but i dunno why the icons looks ugly. Now i realize u need to find the correct icon and some settings to make it work perfect on Omnia. If u don’t believe me see below pictures..:)
What u need to do is download the ifonz from the http://thedogcorner.blogspot.com/. Run the ifonz.exe file to open the program. A few settings u need to do;
- set icon size 48×48
- icons for row in Portrait = 4
- icons for row in Landscape =8
- background = use default color (black) for better performance
- unchecked on welcome animation on start
- checked Start with windows
- use high quality icons from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424678
Or the easiest way is download MY THEME settings here. (please rename *.pdf to *.ifonz) and also u need to download the icons from here (please rename *.pdf to *.rar).
- After download, run the ifonz.
- hold the battery icon until menu come out
- select themes > Load
- chose the theme that u downloaded just now (maksTheme.ifonz)
- then click OK
- for the icons, extract [Realize 48 for Ifonz.rar] file
- and u MUST put the ‘Realize 48 for Ifonz’ folder in My Storage > My Documents > My Pictures > Icon
- (if u didn;t copy into exact location, the icon will not appear as shown above)
- DONE
- some of the icons maybe is not necessary/related for you, so u can delete it..no problem..

but one application is not there, which is HOME SCREEN PLUS UI..

Hi!
I’ve downloaded your theme for ifonz! Now i wanted to change the common theme into yours but when i rename the file to *.ifonz my omnia couldn’t find the file and so i can’t change the theme! Please help me!!!!

1. I saw thar you are using S2V, I istalled this on my Omnia but nothing happens when I try to start the program. Any suggestion
2. I use Ifonz and have a “task icon” but this shows all of my tasks (counting the tasks) Is it possible to make it show the tasks “today”?

after u load the theme.
did u put the folder (Realize 48 for Ifonz) under this path, My Storage > My Documents > My Pictures > Icon?

have u installed S2V on ur omnia..
the ifonz theme is just shortcut to the program..
u need to make sure every icon on the ifonz is pointing to correct application path..
for quest no.2 , i think it could be done

I have got the same problem as JL. Copied Realize 48 for Ifonz folder under My Storage>My Documents>My Pictures>Icon, but it still shows the old type of icons.
Any clue??

hi, I got S2V to work, but I can´t see any photos, ex, under DCIM, the only thing that I can se is “thumbnal”. No photos. I use the arrows to get to my folders.
S2P works great.
I havn´t found any solutions to make tasks only show today items

SP, the best way to check is u hold the icon until menu come out,
click edit..
then in icon field, check whether the path is pointing to the correct icon or not..

I had to download the net framework files, I successfully installed it, then I I tried to run fonz.exe, comes up with unexpected error, and stops, so then I reset/reboot, and tried again with same results.
Also when I tried to click on the two links for your settings It doesnt open, any ideas? thx

I had checked that already and they were not pointing to the right directory. So I changed the path of all the required icons and saved it as my theme. Now it rocks…

same problem as chewy.. download the net framework from developer site and still get the unexpected error. I installed it at my storage.. pls help. Uninstalled spb mobile just to get this to work.. hehehe

Maks, ok i figured out the two links, the ones you rename to rar from pdf, I was trying to open to new tab, and when I tried to save it it auto saved as pdf, I didnt get right away that I have to change it to .rar in the name when I saved it, and select all files format instead of pdf. kinda basic I know. anyways I got that now.
Still cant get ifonz working. just to be clear, I downloaded it to my phone storage, and opened ifonz.exe not using my PC, is this correct. does storage vs system memory make a difference.
I was able to successfully install the .net framework, but dont now how to use it or check to see if its working correctly or anything.
I downloaded it from your link, I will try to find another source, someone please post one if you find one or can create one. thanks

I got the error msg again… This is wat i did…
(1) download ur link for the net 3.5 above
(2) Install it at my storage(did it at my device still error)
(3) Get the qvga.zip file and paste it at my storage.
(4) run the ifonz.exe from e phone..
got e error message….

Just one thing: Is it possible to get the look of the top bar in “Ifonz settings” as the top bar in Ifonz itself (this looks much better I think, check it out).
Otherwise I´m very happy to have installed s2u2 today aswell – Sweet…

actually, after u download the ifonz from the site http://thedogcorner.blogspot.com/,
u dont need to install anything..
just run ifonz.exe file..that’s all

Sorry, im new with my Omnia. How should i load the theme? I have paste in inside my storage but it doesnt recognise .ifonz as an applcation. I tried the pressing and hold batt icon on the display page but it doesnt show me the menu for theme, instead it was the batt menu.

I have 2 problems:
1- Using GMail on Omnia: I’ve done all suggested settings specified on GMail web site, i.e IMAP4, authentication and request of SSL, etc. Receiving e-mails, no problem. But I cannot send any e-mails.
2- Using iFonz and S2U2 simultaneously, no problem. Only problem is with Caller ID. When it is on, Omnia freezes when there is call or message. Then you need soft reset.
First problem is of course more important. Anyone who can help please?

I love ifonz but after installing it my smart reader stopped working on my omnia i910. I’ve seen some posts on other sites about smart reader not working after installing s2u2 but I haven’t installed s2u2. Any ideas? Thanks.

u need to install ifonz 1st..then run ifonz and load the theme.

Thank you for your reply.
I have resolved the e-mail issue. Apparently it was related to MW 6.1. There was a patch on Wİndows Mobile official web site.
For the freezing, it still continues. When I turn Caller ID off, no problem.
If I cannot resolve, then I will need something simpler w/o caller ID function. Any recommendation?
By the way I also need a siple application to turn the “x” button to really turn off the programs and not minimize them. Actually I prefer to have the option to choose between shutting down and minimizing. Any recommendation?

I tried installing ifonz 2 beta, it works sort of!!! the openning screen appear to be wrong size, by this I mean it looks like I am only see part of the screen(like it is magnified), wrong resolutions. Anyone have this problem???

i use version iFonz 1.1.2.0 on Omnia, together with S2U2. No major problems. Maybe Beta version has still some bugs. Try the earlier version.

It seems I’m having the same problem Bigall is having. I don’t ever get the chance to change the icon sizes etc. I can’t load the theme either just because the screen is very large and can only view part of the screens. Could u tell me how to get to the step of changing the size orientations. Much appreciated

I have used iFonz in the past, then used Winterface, then Spb 2.1.5 and now Spb 3.0.
I believe Spb 3.0 is the best.

This is one of the strange application I have seen so far…some users who have Omnia are able to install it others are not even when installing .net 3.5 or what ever is called. Given that the instruction to install is not clear…should we install on device, storage, storage card..but that does not seem to matter.
Either there is a corruption with the ifonz when it is being downloaded or .net or some omnia phones have different files that are causing problems with installation which does not explain whty some are able to install it while others are not able.

Ok….after some research and extensive testing and if you are having problem with .net 35 framework you will need to download and install .net from the following link: http://www.savefile.com/files/1695358 which is about 2.5MB cab file…

Just a quick question. For the ifonz v2, I cannot seem to install the theme file that mak provided. Also is there a way to resize the home screen buttons? Mine are huge and they overlapped with each other. (Have changed the default theme to the standard qvga). Thanks!
